Commissioner Generals of Prisons in African continent are in Kampala to hammer way forward on peace and security reforms to combat increasing threats by terrorists.
Under their umbrella of the African Correctional Services Association (ACSA) the Prison chiefs are determined to ensure that those guarding the inmates in Prison detentions are well trained using the best practices that match the Al-Shabab terror attacks who might aim to kill or release prisoners.
"We need to carry out some reforms and mainstreaming of peace and security at regional and global to ensure security is improved," Gen. Aronda Nyakairima the internal affairs minister told the Prison heads.

Aronda was speaking at the opening of ACSA executive planning meeting at Protea Hotel in Kampala.
The prison bosses were from Zambia, Ghana, Mozambigue, Malawi, Uganda, Namibia and Nigeria among others.
Aronda emphasized the need to transform the services of Prisons that will make them self sustaining and productive in the support of developing economies of each country.
He said centres of excellence should be established so as to gain positive image of Prisons rather than being looked at places of torture/ incasration.
