Uganda's senior women won  bronze medal at the World Cross Country ($12,000 prize ) championships early today in Guiyang, China.

Ethiopia took team title gold in women's senior race on 17pts, Kenya silver, 19pts & Uganda bronze, 101pts

Earlier, African 10,000m junior champion Joshua Cheptegei faded in the final lap, with Uganda's best place in the men's junior going to Fred Musobo, 9th in 24:10.

Uganda came 4th, outside the medals bracket, in the team results for both the junior men and junior women categories.

In the senior men's race, Kenya's Geoffrey Kipsang Kamworor is the World Cross Country champion. Wins $30,000
