VVC warm up for Africa Volleyball Championship with easy wins

While the general view after the Jinja Open volleyball championship over the weekend was that Vision Volleyball Camp (VVC) women got a perfect test ahead of their trip for the 2015 Africa Women''s Club Championship, their coach Hannington Nsubuga thinks otherwise.

While the general view after the Jinja Open volleyball championship over the weekend was that Vision Volleyball Camp (VVC) women got a perfect test ahead of their trip for the 2015 Africa Women's Club Championship, their coach Hannington Nsubuga thinks otherwise.
VVC easily won all the five matches they played at the championship and Nsubuga insists that his team was not tested throughout the weekend competition. With attacker Peace Busingye enjoying top form, VVC women beat KAVC 25-20, 25-17, 25-14 in the final.
"KAVC tried to challenge us but we did not get optimum opposition. But what could we do? That was their best. I broke them (KAVC) down after I studied their weaknesses during the first set. We are in top form for the Africa club championships," Nsubuga said.
Indeed with VVC's biggest challengers Nkumba and Ndejje university volleyball clubs absent at the annual championship, it was a walk in the park. The Jinja Open title was Vision Volleyball Camp's third straight trophy in Uganda Volleyball Federation (UVF) calendar events this year after winning the Joan Cox and the Ndejje Open championships.
VVC turns attention to the 2015 Africa Women's Club Championship which is their maiden continental championship -starting in Cairo, Egypt on Thursday.
The Jinja Open men's final between Sport-S and KAVC failed to conclude. The referee stopped the final due to poor visibility while Sport-S led KAVC 2-1. The final will be replayed at the MTN Arena in Lugogo on April 4. Next on the local calendar is the KIU Open this weekend.
