In his message, President Museveni said the passing of the young musician is a big loss not only to the family but also to the entire country.
“Mzee Mayanja, It is sad that you have lost your last born but thank God for his life because he was a hardworking man. He has gone at a time when the nation wanted him. May his soul rest in peace,” the message read.
The President also made a contribution of sh10m towards the finishing of AK47’s house. The money was handed over to the Gerald Mayanja, the deceased’s father.
Thousands of people turned up to the funeral. The numbers were teeming to the extent that many of the mourners who had come to pay their last respects did not reach the burial ground.
The deceased’s father requested Government to destroy all weed (cannabis/marijuana) plantations which most youth could be using.
“I know I am the father of all rastas in the country, but I am requesting the Government to demolish every weed plantation so that we can have more responsible people, otherwise today’s youth are a danger to our society,” said a grief-stricken Gerald Mayanja.
Mourners at the home questioned the sudden death of AK47, saying that Police should speed up with their investigations.
