Emmanuel Mayanja aka AK 47 will be laid to rest today at Kasaato, Kalangaalo, in Singo, Mityana. Tributes, messages of comfort and support towards the family have come from all parts of the country.

At just 25, AK, like his girlfriend Maggie Kiweesi fondly referred to him, has gone too soon, leaving behind a very young family, himself a younger member of the Mayanja family.

In what still remains a mysterious death, the young musician, who had recently turned to Christ, lived his last moments at Dejavu bar in Kabalagala on Monday.

That bizarre evening he reportedly fell in the restrooms and was rushed to Nsambya hospital, frothing and bleeding from the mouth, and nose. Police is still investigating the strange circumstances in which the deceased sustained a cracked skull and bruises on his body before 'the fall'.

At the requiem mass held at St Joseph Lweza Catholic Church along Entebbe road on Wednesday, thousands flocked the usually calm and quiet establishment to grieve with the famous family and pay their last respects.

It's a family of now three musicians; Joseph, Douglas and Pius (all share the father's name Mayanja), the fourth having departed so young. Our photographer was there to capture the highly emotional, sad and telling moments.
