Police Tuesday visited the scene of what so far seems like a mysterious death of singer Emmanuel Mayanja AK47.

Police detectives led by Kabalagala police criminal investigations boss Nusurah Kemigisha combed Dejavu bar located in Kabalagala under the searing heat  as they tried to unravel what exactly transpired Monday night.

In trying to reconstruct the events of Monday night, the regional police commander directed for the arrest of a one Kisenyi, the bar manager, to help shed light on what happened and on the security measures at the premises.

So far what is emerging from investigations, according to Kisenyi's narrative, shows that on the fateful night, AK47 was in the company of friends including the resident DJ called Bobi, and singer Diamond Oscar.

EVENTS PRECEEDING HIS DEATH

AK47 was set to release a gospel song, and on that evening he had a laptop on which he was playing the song and was showing to his friends.

At about 11.00pm he excused himself and went to the restrooms. However shortly after, a panicked cleaner dashed from the restrooms towards AK 47's friends and announced that the singer needed help as he had slipped and fallen and seemed motionless.

Kisenyi told detectives that when they got to AK 47 he was lying helpless on the floor; convulsing and bleeding from the nose and mouth.

They rushed him to a nearby clinic, but they were told to rush him to a hospital and he was rushed to the nearby St. Francis's Nsambya hospital.

At the hospital AK 47 was pronounced dead on examination.

The bar manager explained that AK 47 along with other musicians under their Team No Sleep label always hang at the bar, which is owned by Jeff Kiwanuka,  the group manager, late into the night.

Team No Sleep comprises of musicians like Sheeba Karungi and Pius Mayanja, aka Pallaso, also a brother to the late.

Detectives searched the bar, especially the table at which the group was seated. Here they found burnt out blunts of weed and food that had been left unfinished following the previous night's pandemonium. These were taken for forensic examination.

Kabalagala CID boss Nusurah Kemigisha revealed that the postmortem report from Mulago hospital where AK 47's body was taken for postmortem Monday night, shows that his skull cracked as a result of the fata fall.

Investigations are ongoing on case file number SD 101/16/03/2015.
