Three of Bobi Wine's siblings are to undergo a DNA test over doubts they are children to the late Mzee Willington Ssentamu.
The decision was unanimously arrived at during a family meeting which was attended by mzee Ssentamu's 38 children.
One of those for the DNA test had even already assumed ownership of one of the late mzee's vehicles.
The second child had already been doubted by the late mzee Ssentamu, and had on two occasions the old man had chased him away from clan functions and assured the mother to find the father.
However in the last days of his ailment the mother cunningly convinced him that the child was his; and out of breath to argue much he accepted him as his own.
The family thus judged that their father was coerced into accepting paternity for a child that was not his.
The third child under doubt, a taxi driver, came up following Ssentamu's death, and the family thought it only befitting to take him for a DNA test.
However there was drama during the family meeting that took place in Kanoni, Gomba, when singer Bobi Wine objected to a DNA test for the taxi driver, saying the resemblance to them was remarkable, especially the pronounced jawline and high cheek bones.
Bobi Wine though lost the battle, especially when his sister challenged him.
“How come you had to first subject your 10-year old son to a DNA test to accept paternity?”
Family sources indicate that since the old man passed on, Bobi Wine and a few of his siblings have been against the idea of subjecting some their own to a DNA test saying it was in bad faith.
The family has resolved that nothing of their late father's estate will be bequeathed until the three siblings have been certified tested.
Some members have expressed fear that some of the children's mothers could have coerced the late Ssentamu to accept responsibility for their children so as to benefit from his vast estate that includes tracts of land, a farm in and real estate.
When sought for comment Bobi Wine (Robert Kyagulanyi), Eddie Yawe and Fred Nyanzi aka Chairman Nyanzi declined.
Their sister Jane Namagembe though said several issues were discussed in the clan meeting and what transpired is not for public consumption.
She said they agreed that a committee of 8 people headed by their elder brother Steven Kirabira Makumbi would resolve these issues.
The late Ssentamu is survived by over 40 children from several women including three official wives; Margaret Nalunkuuma whore bore 11 but lost one; Mary Magdalene Namale, married with 10 children; and Alice Nantumbwe with seven children.
