Luzinda lover''s arrest: Lokodo declines to comment

KAMPALA - Ethics minister Fr. Simon Lokodo has declined to comment any further on the issue surrounding the purported arrest of Franklin Emuobor, the estranged Nigerian lover of local musician Desire Luzinda.

The West African is alleged to have leaked the nude photos of Luzinda which later went viral on social media late last year.        

Lokodo's reluctance to comment comes after Emuobor posted a video showing him a free man, dismissing claims by the minister that he had been arrested by the International Police (Interpol).   

The video, whose authenticity cannot be confirmed by New Vision, shows a man appearing to be Emoubor together with another man.

In the footage, the two men ridicule the Ugandan minister’s claims that one of them (Emuobor) had been arrested.

‘Get off the hook’
 

Asked about the latest development with regard to the matter, the Minister Lokodo was cagey.

“That information is reserved. We have agreed with the police to seal that information from the media,” he said.

As to whether he still stands by his claims, Lokodo was cryptic. “He [Emuobor] will remain under arrest and if he is not arrested he will be arrested.”

The ethics minister said the decision by him and the police not to comment on the matter is out of the realization that what had been published about Emoubor’s arrest had already affected the case.          

“It may provide an occasion for those adversely mentioned to get off the hook.”

Lokodo on Tuesday at a press conference announced that the Emoubor had been arrested by Interpol, a claim instantly dismissed by the Nigerian who purportedly posted a video on social media depicting him a free man.
