The 2015 motocross season was one that you couldn’t risk any prediction. The action packed event had surprises in the different categories of the competition. The event attracted Vivo Energy as the main sponsor this year.
 
The event that started off at 10am attracted huge crowds with hundreds driving from Kampala to watch the thrilling performances of the bikers.
 
In the M1 category defending champion Maxime Van Pee lived to expectation as he won all the three heats even after giving Arthur Blick Jr, Asaf Natan and Talha Kiggundu a head start of a minute.
 
"I'm glad that I have now. I gave Blick and Asaf a head start just because I saw the fans were bored and I wanted to excite them which worked," Maxime told New Vision after the event.
 
In the MX 2 category regional champion Ahmed Tamale is set to be elevated to the MX1 following a humiliation by Ali Omar Yasser. Omar put up a fight that saw him win the category that had several senior riders that included Michael Ntayiro, Fatuh Kiggundu and others. "I can't stand being humiliated by these young boys, but in the MX1 category no one will recognise this humiliation," Tamale stated.

Aviv Orland conquers Fortune Ssentamu
In the 85 cc category new blood on the block Aviv Orland ruled the day as he upset Fortune Ssentamu in two heats.
Orland had a constant speed and could go for double jumps on some humps winning the event followed by Ssentamu, Paddy Blick and then his brother Stav Orland in the fourth position.
The youngsters gave the fans value for their money in all the heats that non-of the fans complained of American rider Daniel Sedlak not riding.
 
Waleed Omar rules 65cc category:
In the 65 cc category Waleed Omar won the event even after giving his opponents a head start.
He was followed by Arnold Nyanzi and Habibu Kiggundu in the second and third positions respectively.
 
Late President Milton Obote's grandson gets a podium in 50cc
Former president of Uganda, Dr. Apollo Milton Obote (RIP) may be in jubilation where he is after his grandson Milton Akaki got a podium finish in the national motocross championship.
Akaki who last year failed to get any podium finish and had not counted on those to have one on Sunday but the young star was on form beating rival Isabella Blick and Malcom Omoding.
 
The event attracted sponsorship from Vision Group, Vivo Energy, Safe Solutions and IAA Resolution Health.
