The final between St Lawrence and Braza Braza was too one-sided that the third place playoff between Zaba and MUBS which the former won 5-4 on penalties after a 6-6 draw was a more attractive encounter.

In fact, Braza Braza coach Abby Katende was criticised for fielding an ill-prepared team. “I did not understand what was happening. Maybe we were too confident to win and were taken by surprise. But we will be okay next season,” Katende said after the match.

Katende however also blamed the defeat on the ‘flooded’ lake that forced the organisers to narrow the surface-of-play.

His counterpart Peter Sseguya was excited and pointed that the trophy would convince the university board to acquire better players.
