KCCA will have three build-up matches ahead of its CAF Champions League preliminary encounter with Cameroon's Cosmos De Baia.

The Lugogo side, which starts its continental campaign by hosting the West African side, kick-off their build-up against City Lads next Friday.

KCCA face Big League team The Saints two days later before taking on Kibuli Secondary School on Tuesday.

Coach Abdallah Mubiru, who has lost two international friendlies in a row, has opted for lighter opposition in his tune-up to boost confidence.

As KCCA take on Cosmos, Uganda’s other representatives URA FC will also be hosting Madagascar’s Elgeco Plus in the CAF Confederations Cup the same weekend.

Mubiru is meanwhile confident that his new signings like striker Francis Olaki, goalkeeper Benjamin Ochan and defender Timothy Awani will make up for the gap left by big names like Brian Umony.

“True, we lost our lead striker, but I also have faith in the newcomers,” explained Mubiru citing striker Olaki who is Umony’s replacement.

“Olaki is a good striker. He has the pace and also an eye for goal,” noted Mubiru, who will have the new signings in their first training on Monday.

Meanwhile URA have begun their preparations for the Elgeco Plus assignment with a squad of 24 players.
