As the FUFA mid-season players’ transfer window closes tomorrow, the Uganda Premier League (UPL) clubs appear to have had very little interest.
By press time Thursday, only nine transactions had been confirmed on the electronic transfer system with Sports Club Villa leading in acquiring new players.
Among the confirmed big names on the transfer list include veteran Hakim Magumba from Kira Young back to Villa Park and Augustine Nsumba from URA FC back to the Jogoos fold.
Benjamin Ochan is moving from SCVU to KCCA, Dan Wagaluka from Soana to Lweza FC, Francis Olaki from KF Tirana(Albania) to KCCA, while Karim Ndugwa moved from Villa to Kenya’s AFC Leopards.
Pending requests include Joseph Ochaya who wants to move from Asante Kotoko of Ghana to KCCA, Fred Nkata from Villa to Kira Young, Robert Aloro and Julius Malingumu both from Rwenshama to Villa and Vipers FC respectively.
FUFA competitions manager Ali Mwebe said that many of the pending cases are as a result of lack of release letters from the clubs that were employing the players in question.
