SC Villa has re-signed former players Hakim Magumba for the third time. The club CEO Ivan Kakembo confirmed return of the duo.

It is also believed that Magumba will help the club to attract a group of fans that had abandoned the club for various reasons including poor performances and drab football.

"I'm looking at where we are heading. At a certain point we will need experienced players like Magumba and Nsumba to guide the young ones," said club head coach Sam Ssimbwa.

In 2012, 33 year old Magumba returned to Villa Park with little effect and fizzled away when Villa split into two.

Magumba and Nsumba together with striker Samson Jakech (Rayon Sport, Rwanda), midfielder Denis Kamanzi (Rwanda, Police FC) and former Sadolin Paint FC team captain Yafesi Waibi are the new acquisitions at Villa Park.

"We have sealed the deal with the five players. Some are already training and I expect those who are not yet here for training after the trials. Remember those (Magumba and Nsumba) are not on trials," Kakembo told New Vision in an exclusive interview at Villa Park.

Ssimbwa explained that he went for Magumba and Nsumba because of their experience and love for the club.

However, Villa has already lost Karim Ndugwa to AFC Leopards of Kenya while Hassan Wasswa and Fred Nkata, who are yet to turn up for training at Villa Park have been linked with moves to clubs in Egypt and Vietnam respectively.

Villa finished the first round of the Uganda Premier League in second position and Ssimbwa is optimistic they can challenge for the trophy this season. The record 16 time Ugandan champions last won the trophy in 2004. The second round of the season rolls off in February.
