The Consitutional Court has dismissed an application that sought to block the  swearing in of the National Resistance Movement (NRM) new office bearers.

The acting deputy Chief Justice Steven Kavuma has however ordered petition be fixed for hearing.

“There must be a prima facie case with probability of success to grant an injunction,” Kavuma ruled.

The new office bearer are Justine Kasule Lumumba the new Secretary General and her deputy Richard Todwong deputy secretary general, Rose Namayanja treasurer  and her deputy Kenneth Omona.

The application was filed by Benjamin Alipanga, who petitioned Court challenging the recent amendments to the NRM constitution that made the secretary general an appointee of teh party chaiperson. He also challenged the resolution for teh NRM sole candidature.
