Is it one of Uganda’s best kept secrets? Pastor Robert Kayanja of Rubaga Miracle Centre can sing? It might not be a secret to the folk that pray at the church, but invited guests at his album launch were left amazed.

Unlike most album launches, Kayanja did not physically sing, but rather a compilation of his songs was played on screen as the faithful screamed their lungs out.

Titled Faithful to Me, the album has 12 tracks which Kayanja composed and sang with Isaac Serukenya and eight-year-old Barbra Bauda. Each of the songs was played, but it was the reggae song I Love the Way that had practically the whole audience dancing along.

He also said the album’s title Faithful to Me is derived from the fact that God remained faithful to him during the trying moments between 2008 and 2012 ,when he battled sodomy allegations.

The sick did not miss out on the opportunity to see Kayanja sing

Midway the show, CDs of the album were auctioned, with 10 lucky people buying an autographed copy at sh1m each, but it was Peter Sematimba who stole the show. He bought a copy at sh2m.

A total of sh17.5m was collected. Kayanja said the money would be used for charity work.
