Why do women ''fall'' more than men?

SUNDAY VISION

By Paul Waiswa

God bestowed man with the authority to reign over satan and all evil forces and to cast out and exercise dominion over all the powers of the enemy.

Jesus said: “…these signs shall follow them that believe. In my name shall they cast out devils…” (Mark 16:17).

His resurrection is testimony that satan and his demons are under his feet. Consequently, satan has no power over Jesus’ believers. All believers have to do is to resist his dark forces in Jesus’ name and they will flee. (James 4:7).

It is, therefore, common to see people falling during deliverance sermons and services. The falling is associated with demons leaving the body of a believer as they are being cast out.

It is taken as a symbol of God’s victory over the devil through man. “Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy and nothing shall by any means hurt you” (Luke 10:19).

But the curious thing about these deliverance services: More often than not, there will be more women than men from whom demons are cast out.

Are women more prone to demons?

“God created man with an iron heart. He wanted him to be stronger than the woman. Women have a lot of fear in their hearts, the reason they need protection from their husbands. It is because of this fear that demons take shelter in people’s hearts,” Apostle Salongo Ntale of Byona Biyinzika ministries, Masaka says.

He adds that since women were made from the man’s rib, they have an inferiority complex that creates fertile ground for satanic and demonic forces.

“All female creatures are undermined. Monkeys, for example, do not give way to their female counterparts. Female species, therefore, ride on fear, are gullible and are easily hoodwinked. A man with sh2,000 can seduce a woman worth sh3m,” Ntale adds.

Pastor Martin Sempa of Makerere Community Church says women fall a lot in deliverance rooms because they are easily tempted. He cites the book of Genesis where Eve was easily tempted to eat the forbidden fruit.

“ The serpent convinced Eve to eat the forbidden fruit and she, in turn, influenced Adam to partake of it. This clearly shows that women are soft targets of evil forces and it also leaves a big curse on women,” Sempa says.

He says a woman is under the guidance of a father and a husband and this makes her liable to curses from all corners. Sempa says it is God’s order of creation that women are under men. “This implies that women have many bosses to please,” Sempa says.

Benna Namusinga of Revival Band says women are susceptible to demons because many of them flock tradional shrines to lure their husbands.

Namusinga says witchcraft is the main reason many women fall during healing sessions when biblical powers over-ride satanic powers.
