KCCA FC coach Abdullah Mubiru is optimistic that his side can retain the Uganda Premier league title.

Mubiru made the remarks during the team’s training ahead of their fixture against Soana FC at the Phillip Omondi stadium on Tuesday.

“The league is a marathon so I believe we still have a chance to defend our title. Soana is a tactically good team but we will get three points from them,” Mubiru stated.

At the moment, he added, the team’s resolve is to collect maximum points from their final three first round games.

The Lugogo side will miss the services of Brian Majwega who completed a two-year switch to the Tanzanian giants Azam on Sunday.

But the winger’s absence might not be felt if on-form striker Brian Umony together with William Wadri, Derrick Nsibambi and Tom Masiko live up to their fans’ expectations.

Elsewhere, table leaders Vipers FC look to extending their unbeaten run when they host SC Villa at Buikwe.Vipers top the 16-team league table with 30 points, four above second placed SC Villa.

Express visit BUL FC while Police host URA at Kavumba.
