Busoga Forestry Company (BFC) Ltd. is a subsidiary of the Green Resources AS, a private Norwegian company establishing forest plantations in Bukaleba and Kachung Central Forest Reserves (CFR), in the districts of Mayuge and Dokollo, respectively. The company holds two 50 year renewable licenses to establish and manage forest plantations on 9,165 ha in Bukaleba CFR, in Mayuge district on the shores of Lake Victoria and 2,669 ha in Kachung CFR in Dokollo district, north of Lake Kyoga.
BFC was established on 14 March 1996 with registration number 31967, and Uganda Investment Authority License number ASD/254/42101. It is a fully paid up member of the Uganda Timber Growers Association, the Uganda Manufacturers’ Association and is registered with Uganda Revenue Authority.
The parent company of BFC is Green Resources AS (GRAS), a private Norwegian company that currently operates in Mozambique, Sudan, Tanzania and Uganda employing over 3,000 people. Established in 1995, GRAS operates as a plantation, carbon offset, forest products and renewable energy Company.
