Dr. Malinga burial set for Wednesday

Government has released a tentative programme for tributes and burial of former Minister of Relief and Disaster Preparedness, Dr. Stephen Malinga.

The minister of Information and National guidance, Mary Karooro Okurut has said that a committee comprising of the ministries of information, relief and disaster preparedness, presidency and public service has been set up to work on the burial arrangements.

According to the tentative programme the body will lie at Mulago National Referral Hospital till Monday, where it has been taken for a postmortem.

On Monday, it will be brought to Parliament for members to pay tribute and on Tuesday, a funeral service will be held at a church that the family will agree on, Karooro said.

The body will then be taken to Malinga’s ancestral home in Butebo. Burial will take place on Wednesday.
