WORLD kick boxing intercontinental champion Ronald Mugula said yesterday that his compatriot Moses Golola still has to improve some aspects of his game.

Mugula, who had a 2-hour training session with Golola at Hotel Africana yesterday, observed that the fighter has to improve his kicks and straight punches.

“His kicks are still weak but I think he will be fine with a series of drills,” Mugula who beat Romanian Elek Jonas to take the intercontinental in Kampala at the weekend said.

But Golola performed well with normal punches, giving Mugula problems during training.

Golola returned home at the weekend after a training programme in Nairobi.

Public attention

The vocal boxer, who has attracted the attention of the public to the sport because of his humorous talk, will face Hungary’s Betyar Istavan in Kampala on April 19.

Golola saluted Mugula for agreeing to be his training partner ahead of the fight.

“Mugula is a good fighter, fresh from a fight and he is in a position to point out where I am lacking,” Golola remarked.

Golola wants to dominate the sport with Mugula.

Meanwhile, Mugula will be return to Germany in a fortnight for two non-title fights.

He said the fights will serve as a build-up to his title defence.
