KAMPALA - A heartless woman dipped her stepson's face in a basin of hot water accusing him of pouring her child's milk.

Vivian Nakitende, a resident of Bweyogerere - Kakajjo Zone, was arrested by  police and charged with child abuse on file number SD:12/29/03/13.

Terrified residents said Nakitende first lashed the boy – identified as Loyce Magada – several several canes and afterwards dragged him to a basin that contained hot water, grabbed him by the nape and submerged his face in it.

Residents nearly lynched the boy's father, Ronald Ngobi accusing him of doing nothing about the endless torture his wife subjects to the boy almost every day.

The incident is only a tip of an iceberg of numerous cases reported of step-parents abusing their step-children within and around Kampala.

Just the other day, a step-mother allegedly poured hot water on her six-year-old step-son after a quarrel with her husband over money to buy foodstuffs for Easter.

She denied the allegations, contrary to witness and Police accounts.

Earlier this year, a six-year-old girl in Kamuli district was admitted to hospital after her step-mother forced a stick into her vagina and it got stuck in the lower abdomen.

Tasked by irked residents to explain how the stick got there, the remorseless woman to be receiving a phone call and took off, leaving the girl behind.
