KAMPALA - Former Ugandan prime minister Amama Mbabazi says he will attend the National Resistance Movement (NRM) delegates Conference due on December 15 at Namboole Stadium.

Mbabazi, who recently took leave as NRM Secretary General, told journalists at Parliament that his attendance is not meant to cause chaos.

The acting party Secretary General, Dorothy Hyuha, last week said the party would be cautious on who attends the conference to avoid possible chaos.

But Mbabazi said he will be part of the conference because he is not a chaotic person.

Party Chairman, President Yoweri Museveni, early this month summoned NRM’s top organ for a meeting that is normally a prelude to all election cycles.

The delegates’ conference is also expected to endorse a string of amendments to the party constitution including inserting a provision for the party chairman to appoint a secretary general.
