Makerere University hosts first internship exhibition

The university's college of humanities and social sciences holds an internship hosts exhibition.

The college of humanities and social sciences which offers courses like journalism, philosophy and anthropology, social sciences and administration, performing arts and film has held an internship hosts exhibition.

The exhibition saw a display of different items from various courses and interaction between students and host companies that take them on during the internship.

Christine Ipyango, the internship coordinator for the college of humanities said the internship exhibition is aimed at exposing students to their possible internship hosts earlier.

“Usually the students do not get placements because they go late however now with examinations coming and eventually the holidays we want to create awareness among the students so that they look for places earlier,” she explained.

Lillian Aber, the vice guild president added that students have been suffering with getting internship for lack of contacts.


“This exhibition will link students to organizations and they should not only just create contacts built network but also meaningful relationships,” she said.

Edward Kirumira, the principal of the college cautioned students against misbehaving on internsip.
