Uganda Cranes coach Micho Sredejovic has said that his players will do all they can to beat Guinea and qualify for the 2015 Africa Nations Cup finals in Ivory Coast.

Uganda last qualified for the African Showpiece in 1978 but they now need a win against Guinea in Morocco on Wednesday to qualify for the competition.

Micho said after the victory against Ghana at Mandela National Stadium, Namboole on Saturday that he is optimistic for a victory in Morocco where Uganda will conclude the campaign with Guinea.

“I don’t see why we cannot do this (win) in Casablanca. Whereas qualifying for the Nations Cup is a usual for Ghana, it is a dream for us. These (Cranes) players have hearts to play and the gas to run and win,” Micho told the post-match press conference.

But he also said that Uganda Cranes beat Ghana because he knew all the Ghanaian players and their way of play. However, he gave credit to the Cranes for following his instructions.

“It is because I know all their (Ghanaian) players. I also started watching these Ghanaian players when they were still playing in underage teams. There is nothing I don’t know about them,” Micho boasted.

Uganda Cranes had picked a 1-1 at the first leg in Kumasi and Micho said that Saturday’s win was proof to his knowledge of Ghanaian football.

The Black Stars coach Maxwell Konadu and his team captain Andre Ayew, who had warned the Cranes ahead of the match, were so upset by the result that they refused to address the post-match press conference.

“I’m privileged to coach the Uganda team but the problem is, in Uganda when things are good,  people over celebrate and when they are bad people are too sad,” he said.

Micho and the team captain, Andy Mwesigwa said that the Cranes will stick together to pick another win in their last game Guinea in Morocco on Wednesday.
