How can I reduce sweating?

I sweat a lot even when it is cold. With the current heat, I am scared of walking out or I risk getting the back of my shirt soaked. What can I do?

In this heat, apart from carrying a bottle of drinking water to keep hydrated, the next best thing is to wear light clothes to allow easier circulation of air around the body to stay cool. Avoid fabrics that trap both sweat and hot air near your skin, leading to overheating. Artificial fibres are typically non-breathable and will make a garment more likely to keep sweat and air in. Include cotton and linen in your wardrobe, without dwelling so much on the price.

Invest in sunscreen. Some men think that they do not need it, but they also feel the heat and sweating is one way of trying to deal with it and maintain the required temperature. Apply before you walk out.

Do not fall into the temptation of wearing shorts and vests in a bid to minimise the effects of the heat; full body cover clothes in light colours have a more cooling effect than you can imagine. Light colours reflect more sunlight than darker shades, keeping your clothes from growing warmer in the sun. The less direct sun you are soaking up the happier you will be, so long as it can be done with light and breathable fabrics.

Stay away from tight-fitting clothes. They may be in vogue, but those clothes do not allow the body to breathe. Loose-fitting clothes made from smooth fabric are what you need. Wear them with all-cotton underwear and you will feel refreshed.
