Significance of. . . December 12

Today is Wednesday 12/12/12 and obviously to many it’s the last time they will have opportunity to write it down in their entire life. This is because it will take 100 years to have such a date, thus 12th December 2112.

It is therefore very important that everyone who currently can read and write takes off time to celebrate and thank God for this once in a lifetime date.

For bible believers, the number 12 is a perfect number for God. For instance there were twelve tribes in Israel; Joseph asked his brothers to bring Benjamin who was the 12th and youngest son of Jacob to save them from death; Jesus needed and had 12 disciples in order to fulfill His divine plan for human kind.

When Jesus was 12 years old he separated from His parents and stayed in the temple (Luke 2: 42-43); And finally after Jesus fed the 5,000 with 5 loaves of bread and 2 fish, the disciples picked up 12 basketfuls of broken pieces that were left over (Luke 19: 15-17). The number 12 therefore signifies fulfillment.

It is no surprise this day has come on Wednesday the 3rd day of the week; Luke 2: 46 Jesus was found after 3 days and after giving up His spirit at 3pm He rose after 3 days.

This is, therefore, a day of fulfillment or satisfaction. Have you ever wondered why 12 is used as a units pack (Dozen)? If an even number was needed then the most appropriate would have been 10 but they chose 12.

My advice to you is that you list down 12 areas in your life where you need satisfaction.

Then take off either12 seconds, minutes, hours et al to ask God to satisfy you in those areas. I am sure many preachers will be asking you to give a 12 figure seed of faith for your area(s) where you need satisfaction; please do.

If it were possible to have all our watches reading the same time I would ask everyone to take a moment to say a prayer for themselves and 12 loved ones at 12:12 noon.

12+12+12 = 36. Most babies are born 36 weeks after conception. This day therefore is likely to give birth to a number of precious things in your life. If you are 36 years old then just know your satisfaction is at hand.

Finally, I wish happy birthday to all who were born on this day most especially those who are12 days, weeks, months or years today.
