Pole Pole targets CRC rally title

The rally crew of Wilberforce Pole Pole and Michael Kizito has ruled out winning the National Rally Championship (NRC) title this year, but vowed to be crowned club man rally champion CRC at this weekend’s Independence Rally in Wakiso and Luwero districts.

Pole Pole told New Vision on Monday that the roads are good and that he will push his Subaru Impreza N10 to the limit.

“There is no way we can win the NRC. It seems Ssebuguzi is already the champion but we are also not letting the CRC title go,” Pole Pole said.

The UMOSPOC organised rally is the third last event on the FMU Calendar and drivers use this event to gain positions for the podium finish.

Pole Pole (231pts) is trailing leader Ronald Ssebuguzi (351pts) with 120 points.

Meanwhile the crew of Arthur Blick Jr and Unisan Bakunda has cautioned all drivers not to underestimate them.

“We are not targeting the NRC title as we started late but we are targeting this event’s trophy.I have tried to learn my car and am confident we are going to give the NRC title contenders a run for their money,” Blick stated.

In the last event in Busiika, Blick’s car engine went off after he pressed a wrong button which pushed him to third, a thing he has ruled out this time.

However, the Kajara rally team of Wilberforce Pole Pole is not taking anything for granted as he feels beating table leader Ronald Ssebuguzi in this event can give him this year’s title.

 Dr.Ashraf Ahmed, Duncan Mubiru, Omar Mayanja, Leila Blick, Pole Pole Wilberforce, Jonas Kansiime, Black Widow, Farouck Ssentogo and Abdul Katete  have already confirmed their Participation.
