The famous Kwagalana Group, a tycoons’ club, is to sponsor Prince David Wasajja’s wedding.

Wasajja, a brother to Kakaba Ronald Mutebi, is slated to wed his beautiful fiancée in January.

“This wedding is going to be handled in a royal manner therefore those who wish to contribute anything will approach the Prince in person or the organising committee,” tycoon Godfrey Kirumira, also the Kwagalana group chairman, said.

He said their focus will be on the wedding because the traditional introduction ceremony is already taken care of and will be conducted in a royal manner. He explained that unlike the ordinary introduction ceremony, the presents the Prince gives to the woman’s parents are not paraded in their compound. Instead they are secretly handed over.

The introduction will take place on December 22, 2012, while the couple will wed at Lubaga Cathedral. Kirumira was part of the Prince’s entourage when he did the inaugural visit at Nsubuga’s home in Lubaga.

The Bukedde newspaper last month unveiled Prince Wasajja’s beautiful wife-to-be, Marion Nankya, a daughter to Bukoto South Member of Parliament, Matthias Nsubuga.

The Kwagalana Group recently threw a party for Wasajja at his home in Kansanga and contributed sh75m and 25 cows to kick start the wedding preparations.

East Africa’s richest man Sudhir Ruparelia valued at US$900m, according to Forbes magazine, is also a member of the Kwagalana Group.
