Assaulted cop withdraws case against MP Nsereko

A police officer attached to the Crime Intelligence desk who accused Kampala Central Member of Parliament Mohammed Nsereko of assaulting him and causing him grievous harm has withdrawn the case he filed against him.
A police officer attached to the Crime Intelligence desk who accused Kampala Central Member of Parliament Mohammed Nsereko of assaulting him and causing him grievous harm has withdrawn the case he filed against him.
Appearing before Buganda Road Court Grade One magistrate, Julius Borore, Musobya took the stand and told court that he had reconciled with Nsereko and had written an additional statement at Police to that effect.
“I have written an additional statement at police expressing my loss of interest in the matter.” Musobya said.
A reconciliation agreement signed by both Musobya and Nsereko was presented before Borore who ruled that the said case is henceforth terminated and Nsereko discharged from the court charge sheet.
This comes after a witness, Kampala Metropolitan North Operations Commander Sam Omala, failed twice to appear in court for the trial forcing Borore to halt the trial prematurely after refusing to answer some of the questions asked by the defense lawyers.
Prosecution alleges that on September 17 while at his home in Old Kampala, MP Mohammed Nsereko assaulted a policeman attached to the Crime Intelligence desk Godfrey Musobya causing him grievous harm in which he lost two teeth when he punched him.
