Buganda Prince Wasajja unveils fiancée

After the Toro royal wedding last week, monarchists are in another ecstasy mood with news that Prince David Kintu Wasajja  brother to Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II has finally unveiled the love of his life.

Marriage preparations are now in full gear after the 46-year-old Wasajja last weekend visited   Marion Nankya Nsubuga’s family in Bukoto, Masaka district.

Wasajja accompanied by close family members led by his sister, Princess Dorothy Nassolo to his fiancée, were hosted by  Nankya's father, Mathias Nsubuga and a few relatives and friends.

Nsubuga is Democratic Party Secretary General and Bukoto South Member of Parliament.

Wasajja's entourage also included, Buganda's minister in charge of research, David Mpanga and city businessman Godfrey Kirumira.

In brief guarded remarks, Buganda's information minister Charles Peter Mayiga described the visit as; "good news to the kingdom." He added that Mengo would release an official statement on the development today (Thursday).

Mayiga revealed that the news of Wasajja's visit had already been relayed to Kabaka Mutebi and the Buganda Premier, Eng. J.B Walusimbi. Many influential members of the Kingdom and subjects have for long waited for Wasajja's marriage.

Prince Wasajja is the youngest son of the late Kabaka Muteesa II. His mother was Winifred Keihangwe, an Ankole princess.

Prince Wasajja holds the degree of Bachelor of Arts from Nottingham University in the United Kingdom. On return to Uganda in 1996, Wasajja worked with Pan World Insurance before moving to   Celtel (Airtel) as retail regional manager.

Close sources said that Wasajja's fiancée (Nankya) is the marketing manager of Wildplaces Africa, a Tours and Travel company.

Nankya studied at:  Kampala Parents School, Kibuli Secondary School, Uganda Marty's SS Namugongo before joining Nkozi University where she pursued a degree in Business Administration and Management.
