Four fixtures including one pitting reigning champions KCCA against 2010 champions Vipers which were earlier on slated to roll off the season will now be played on the last day of the 2014/2015 season.

According to the chairman Uganda Premier League Abbas Kawaase, the decision is meant to ensure television broadcast of the matches are not affected.

The Uganda Premier League which should have kicked off on September 2 was delayed until September 12 by relegated Maroons FC’s decision to drag FUFA to court as they seek to the reinstated in the top flight competition.

Maroons, who last season opted to compete in the Uganda Super League fell off the equation of top flight soccer when Kavuma Kabenge, who managed the competition reached a compromise with FUFA to run a single premier league in the country.

FUFA chief executive officer Edgar Watson confirmed that, “The league which was scheduled to start Friday, 12th September 2014 will instead commence on Friday, 19th September 2014 with the missed games to be rescheduled later”.

Participating clubs are scheduled to meet FUFA, Uganda Premier League and Super Sport for a briefing on what is expected from the players and officials at the federation offices in Mengo this morning.
