Geoffrey Massa registered a scoring return to the South Africa domestic league as the University of Pretoria lost 2-1 to Kaizer Chiefs on Saturday.

The Cranes striker, who had inspired Uganda Cranes to 2-0 win the Nations Cup qualifier against Guinea earlier in the week, struck from the spot on 49 minutes after goalkeeper Brilliant Khuzwayo came off his line early and was adjudged to have fouled Nyondo in the Chiefs 18-yard area.

Reneilwe Letsholonyane, who had given Chiefs the lead in the 18th minute, struck the winner deep into the second half.

Massa later told New Vision: “It felt great scoring again after scoring for Cranes three days earlier. I hope to score a lot more for the club. I feel at home. We are a family here and work for each other. The coach (Steve Barker) has helped me settle in.”

“I was so tired after playing against Guinea. I will now take a break before the next game,” he added.
