Team Uganda gears up for Woodball World Cup

The 6th Woodball World Cup was officially opened by the International Woodball Federation (IWbF) president Ming-Hui Weng Sunday.

The 6th Woodball World Cup was officially opened by the International Woodball Federation (IWbF) president Ming-Hui Weng Sunday.

The competition will start on Monday with the fairway in the singles, doubles and mixed doubles for both the men and women.

Players will compete in singles elimination in 12 fairways.

The player who will score the least strokes after 12 gates will be declared the winner.

In the men’ s singles, experienced Ndejje University’s Onesmus Atamba, taking part in his third World Cup, is drawn against Edward Muema
of Kenya.

Atamba’s colleague Ronald Kawumba will face another Kenyan player Kevin Otinya.

Raymond Musasizi will take on Qin Ru Si from China while El Mohammed Musisi has been drawn against Klayut Mongkholsamai from Thailand.

In the ladies category, experienced player Lillian Zawedde and Charity Nagaba will face Yu-Hui Su and Wan-Hsuan Lin from Chinese Taipei.

Elsewhere, Sophie Namuddu is up against Korea’s Hye Jung Choi while Joan Mukoova will face Ngan Chan from Hong Kong.
