At only three years old, Angeline Asio Osege has already released a single, called “Ingopit oni kwap Emoru” . The song is drawn from Psalms 91:14: “He will cover you with his feathers. He will shelter you with his wings. His faithful promises are your armor and protection.”

Osege is becoming a dominant voice at the Pentecostal Assemblies of God (PAG) church in Soroti town. She composes her music through imitating her mother.

She first hit the spotlight during the Sports Day at her school, Favour Nursery and Primary school in June, 2012. She is the lead singer in the second service at her church every Sunday.

Her mother, Mary Mwanica, who is also a gospel artiste, says she realised her daughter’s talent when she would go with her for choir practice.

“She would sit at a distance to watch me practise, then imitate me when we went home, she says. The 3-year-old says she wants to become a musician like her mother.

“The whole Christian folk know her, and she is not shy,” says Mwanica, who is planning to have Osege lead one song in her upcoming video.

When there is a function, and her mother is not in attendance, Osege represents her mother. “But even then, when she is around, Osege at times joins her as a dancer or participating artiste,” says the father, Samuel Mwanica.
Osege was born on January, 3, 2009 in Bukedea district.

With the help of her mother, Osege recorded her song at Canaan Studios in Soroti, with Franko Sharp as her producer.
Osege’s parents believe it is God who called their daughter and that she will do wonders in the ministry.

The young singer has built a following and whenever there are Christian fundraisings, she is called to minister. “The way she dances and her charming voice makes people give money,” says Simon Omujal, one of the people who attends the church.
