Born to Besi and Peter Ebiau of Apapai village in Serere district, Atai is the second last born out of seven children. She is thankful that her music has made many people turn to God. She says Pastor Stephen Dikan, who is also a musician, nurtured her spiritually, especially when she joined Tororo Pentecostal Church.
Like any other musician, Atai faces the challenge of people wanting her music CDs for free.
“I also have a challenge of recording my music,” she says.
Atai adds that she is thankful to God that her music has changed the lives of many people. Besides singing, she is also a vocal trainer and song writer.
One thing she says people do not know about her is that she is friendly but principled. Her first album Testimony; produced in 2011, is a household song in many churches.
The six-truck album has songs like: Testimony, Supagulu, I love Jesus, Who am I and What can I pay. On how she composes her music, Atai says it is based on reading the Bible and revelations from God. She is also thankful to her family for the encouragement and support they give her.
She is currently working as an assistant director in Faith Rescue Missions Organisation based in Kenya. Atai studied at Apapai Primary School, Erimu College, Ngora Girls and Tororo High School.
