Last respects have been held for three of the five Horizon bus accident victims from Kabale district .

Caroline Kakuru who worked with Mwisi Compassion was buried at Bukoora village, Kitumba subcounty after  a funeral service at Nyabikoni Church of Uganda.

Kakuru’s body was identified from the ring she wore on her finger and a few documents which had not been burnt.

Dickens Ndyahabwe a survivor of Horizon Bus accident said Caroline Kakuru had a big testimony and the district has missed her services to the needy.

Ndyahabwe said an old said Kakuru had given her three dresses and looked for sponsors of her children after her conditions touched her.

He said Caroline’s prayer requests were to have her husband come to work near her as he works in Northern Uganda and secondly she was concerned about the loss of family values in Kabale district.

Mary Twinabagyezi Rwomushana, was laid to rest at Katuna. Her son ASP Tomson Rwomushana, the DPC Kisoro said her mum was hard working and made sure her children had enough resources to support themselves.

Thomas Rwomushana the husband said his wife was updating him on the journey on phone and even called him when the bus started veering off the road.

Late Henry Manzi will be buried in Rukungiri on Friday.

Relatives of Ivan Twesigye prayed at Rutooma without his body but one of his brother provided blood and hair samples that will  be used to identify him through DNA.

In Kisoro district, Sarah Mateke, the Woman MP has condemned the manner in which bus owners are failing to value life of people. Mateke said we nolonger need old buses in Kisoro district and government should not play games.

“When gateway bus killed a Congolese refugee, government stopped them from transporting refugees but remained transporting Ugandans”.

Sarah who was angry said do they value life of foreigners more than those of Ugandans. She said if government fails to give a statement in Parliament she will move one condemning government.
