President Yoweri Museveni is today (Thursday) expected to visit Hilton Hotel under construction to check the progress of the work.

The 20-floor structure on 14 acres of land is owned by two Sudanese investors Aya brothers.

The $100m (sh250b) investment is located at Nakasero in Kampala at the former Uganda Television (UTV) premises.

In 2006, the Government granted the Aya Group the land to build the five-star hotel to accommodate guests during the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in November 2007.

But the group failed to beat the deadline.

The group reassured the Government and the public that the hotel would be ready to receive its first guest in March 2010 but still faulted on the deadline.
