Sunday Vision will this Sunday celebrate twins with a special pullout in the newspaper and a luncheon at the Commonwealth Resort Munyonyo.

The event, dubbed Kampala Twins Festival, will be attended by 50 invited twins. They were selected from among those who have been sending their stories and photos to Sunday Vision following the announcement about a month ago.

Sunday Vision editor Dr. Charles Wendo said the main objective is to celebrate twins, give them a platform and disseminate accurate information about them. He added that the festival would become an annual event.

“Twins and their parents are accorded a special status in the Ugandan society but there are many myths and misconceptions surrounding them. As a family paper, we want to celebrate twins while at the same time providing the public with correct and interesting information,” he said.

The event is co-sponsored by the Commonwealth Resort Munyonyo. It will have several fun activities, a photo shoot, quizzes and prizes.

Out of the 50 winners, prizes will be given to the Nnalongo (mother of twins) and Ssalongo (father of twins) of the day, most inspiring twins’ story, best photo, best dressed, quiz winners and most similar twins.

On the same day, Sunday Vision will publish a special pull-out with inspirational, fascinating and funny stories as well as photos of over 150 twins, accompanied by interesting scientific facts about them. Twins are encouraged to join the discussion on www.facebook.com/KampalaTwinFestival.
