Wilson Bugembe, one of Uganda’s favourite gospel artistes and Pastor at Light the World Church, Nansana, has added another album to his musical repertoire.

The album, Biribabitya, has seven songs, which are already rocking airwaves and dancehalls. Bugembe skilfully employs descriptive lyrics, metaphorical situations and similes, which enable him to deliver spiritual and social messages with utmost effect.

The titlesong, Biribabitya (How will it be?) has proved to be the most popular item on the album. The song provokes you to reflect on what will prevail at the gates of heaven on the day of judgement.

The wretched and the affluent, the weak and the powerful will queue together as they try to make their way through the gates! Imagine such a spectacle!

How will the righteous react as the angels usher them into heaven? And what will be the reaction of those that God will condemn to hell?

The ultimate message of the song is the need for all people to repent and accept Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and saviour.

Bugembe makes it clear that opulence, abject poverty, power or education will not get people into heaven. The only ‘ticket’ to the heavenly dwellings is salvation, which is attained through repentance and acceptance of Jesus as the begotten son of God, saviour of mankind.

The song also carries the message of the oneness of mankind. People all over the world are brothers and sisters, who share a common fatherhood in God. Tribes, nationalities, social/economic classes are temporal realities, which will have no relevance in heaven.

The other songs on the album include Yesu Mulamu, Tusitula Yesu (we exalt Jesus), Linder (a call to repentance), Nangirira (I prophesy a year of prosperity) and Meeme yange tova ku Katonda.

Bugembe will launch his album at Hotel Equatoria Parking, next Friday (August 31). His concert at 7:00pm will also feature gospel artistes like Betty Nakibuuka, Judith Babirye, Julie Muteesaasira and Herbert Twina. Bugembe also has concerts at Satellite Beach, Mukono and at Pope Paul Memorial Hotel, Rubaga on Saturday (September 1) and Sunday                      (September 2).
