INVITATION TO BID FOR THE PROVISION OF MEDICAL INSURANCE SERVICES (RE-TENDERED)

BID NOTICE UNDER OPEN BIDDING

Procurement Reference Number: UIRI/SRVCS/12-13/00006

1. The Uganda Industrial Research Institute (UIRI) has allocated funds under the budget allocations for the FY 2012/13 to be used for the acquisition of Medical

Insurance Services.

2. The Uganda Industrial Research Institute (UIRI) invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for the provision of Medical Insurance Services for a one (1) year renewable contract, upon satisfactory performance.

3. Bidding will be conducted in accordance with the open domestic bidding procedures contained in the Government of Uganda’s Public Procurement and Disposal of Public Assets Act, 2003, and is open to all bidders from eligible source countries.

4. Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from the Uganda Industrial Research Institute and inspect the bidding documents at the address given below at 7(a) from 8:30am to 4:30pm on working days (Monday to Friday).

5. A complete set of Bidding Documents in English may be purchased by interested bidders on the submission of a written application to the address below at 7(a) and upon payment of a non-refundable fee of UGX. 50,000/=. The method of payment will be by cash at the UIRI Accounts office on the 1st floor, Administration block. The document shall be picked by interested eligible bidders. No liability will be accepted for loss or late delivery.

6. Bids must be delivered to the address below at 7(a) at or before 10:00 am (Kampala local time) on Friday 28th September, 2012. All bids must be accompanied by a bid security of UGX. 4,500,000/= or US $ 2,250.00. Late bids shall be rejected. Bids will be opened in the presence of the bidders’ representatives, who choose to attend at the address below at 7(b) at 10:15 am (Kampala local time) on Friday 28th September, 2012.
