OMG, these girls are awesome

You could have heard about the OMG girls on radio but didn’t know much about them except their smashing hits. Well OMG stands for Officially Miss Guided.  It is an all girl teen singing group that started with four girls Bahja, Breaunna and Zonnique, who is T.I.’s daughter, and Reginae Carter, who is Lil wayne’s first kid. 

OMG started in 2009 with major success given the firm support and foundation of their families.

Zonnique Pullins coming from the family of the crowned king of Atlanta,T.I. and Reginae being the Lil Wayne’s daughter only made these girls’ dream of becoming stars easier.

Tiny Cottle Tameka,who is T.I.s wife and mother to Zonnique has been able to guide the girls through the right path from the day they started doing music. Tiny encouraged her daughter to start up a group after noticing her daughter’s music talent at school.  (Tiny is the brain behind TLC’s 1998 smashing hit, No Scrubs,  and was a memeber of the 90’s rnb group X Scape) 

Because of the relationship that Zonnique’s mother, has with Reginae’s mom,Toya Wright, Tiny encouraged her daughter to hook up with Reginae to form a group.

“start up a group and make the music thing really going,” Tiny stated in an interview with MTV,while giving a background of OMG Girls. The girls where all home schooled and  always had studio time. 

Tiny who now manages the teen group also writes their songs. “I don’t want them to go through the things I went through, so I try to guide them,” Tiny explained in the interview.

In 2011 on BET’s Tiny & Toya season 2, Tiny prepared the young girls for their first public appearance. From then on, they quickly rose to fame especially after their hit track, Gucci this, which stayed on the top 10 Billboard charts for three weeks. The song also got them to  ink a record deal with Interscope Record label which has managed a fleet of successful rappers like 50 Cent, Eminem and Ludacris.

Lately they have done a string of tracks including, Pretty girl bag, Where the boys at and Aint nobody which are all set to debute on their upcoming album.

But as the public was still getting used to them, Reginae left the group, raising speculation that Tiny and Toya could be having some beef.

Another girl, Lourdes Rodriguez, joined them but left shortly after they thought she was too young to fit in. They got a new member, Breaunna Womack, who was recruited after watching her on you-tube, dance to Beyonce’s Ego music video.

Now the group comprised of Bahja Rodriguez, Zonnique Pullins and Breaunna Womack seem to be enjoying every moment at the top. 

They have already teamed up with young rappers Diggy Simmons, Jacob Latimore and others to do hit songs. In fact Lady Gaga once tweeted ‘maybe I should work with them sometime.’

They are set to release their debut album in October, with a promise of lots of guest appearances from T.I, Rihanna, Jacob Latimore, Diggy Simmons and a lot more.
