Namilyango Junior boys represent Uganda at Scouts Jamboree

Namilyango Junior boys, Mukono has been chosen to represent Uganda at this year’s International scouts Jamboree festival in Cologne, Germany.

Namilyango Junior boys, Mukono has been chosen to represent Uganda at this year’s International scouts Jamboree festival in Cologne, Germany.

 The one week festival kicks off on Monday, Aug, 12, 2012 and ends on Aug, 18 at the diocese of Cologne. Namilyango is among few countries that are representing Africa during the festival.

Sr. Leticia Nabukalu the headmistress said that the school would try to establish and strengthen partnerships with children from other countries and even promote Uganda’s culture.

“During the camp activities there would be an exchange in terms of culture, art and even making partnership with groups from other countries,”

She said that the children would participate in activities like open sessions, singing at the camp fire and story -telling.

Scout master, John Kiizza said, “We hope to promote Uganda’s culture by presenting our cultural norms in terms of poem and music during the festival camp. “
