Clinton misses examination to meet 'Dad'

Bill Clinton Kaligana, 14 this afternoon missed writing his history examination and dashed to Entebbe where he had been summoned to meet former US President with whom they share a name.

‘” At around 1pm I got a telephone call from a man who said he was calling from State House. He instructed me to get Clinton ready to meet the former US president.” Ibrahim Wambi his deputy head teacher.

New Vision on Friday published an article in which the teenager expressed his wish to meet his “father “ whom he said had abandoned him.

Kaligana disclosed that he likes history a lot but had to forfeit the evaluation exercise in order to achieve his objective of meeting his namesake.

“I cannot hide my excitement that we are finally going to meet again. I grew up knowing he is my dad after getting his name when he visited and carried me in his arms when I was just four days old,”

When we meet I will ask him to finance my education since my parents are strained with various needs,” he said in an interview at Holy Cross Lake View S.S. in Wanyange village located in Jinja district.

Shortly after 1pm, a police patrol car arrived at the school where Clinton and his mother Betty Namugosa were eagerly waiting.

Washington Lubeja, the regional traffic police chief said they got directives from Kampala to rush Clinton to Entebbe.

After Clinton’s visit on March 24, 1998 the Namugosa family kept in touch with him through letters but the link was dropped soon afterwards.
