Iganga Centre tops Chenga Challenge

Iganga Children’s Centre PS became the last team to qualify for the national City Tyres U-14 Chenga Challenge following their goal advantage over second placed Kakira Sugar

Iganga Children’s Centre PS became the last team (the eighth) to qualify for the national City Tyres U-14 Chenga Challenge following their goal advantage over second placed Kakira Sugar in a one day soccer gala that took place at Kakindu stadium on Saturday.

The two teams drew 1-1 in the first match but went on to win their next two games and scoring six goals each but Kakira conceded two as opposed to the Iganga side that conceded one.

The champions were rewarded with sh1.5m from sponsors City Tyres the main sponsors in a tournament that had Jinja Youth FC and Woody Boys FC as the other teams on the day.

The Iganga team joins Kitebi PS from Kampala region,Tororo’s True Vine from Mbale, Kabale Sports Academy from Kabale, Bugoba from Lugazi and Mbarara Stars from Mbarara in the finals to battle for the top sh5m prize for the winner. The runner up will walk away with sh3m.
