Sisqo to boost KCCA campaign

WE all know that the genesis of the ban on late night concerts stems from the destruction that was caused to the KCCA green belt, outside Kyadondo Rugby Grounds on Jinja Road.

This took place at the Battle of the Champions concert. Apart from ending the show going on as late as 4:00am, revellers stampeded on the flowers, trees and grass that had been planted by the KCCA.

The city authority has since tightened its grip on concerts in the city and its suburbs, with strict conditions to protect the green belts.

However, the latest info we have indicates that as a sign of appreciation to KCCA for having granted him permission to hold his first ever concert in Africa at Kyadondo Rugby Grounds, American singer Mark Althaveans Andrews, commonly known as Sisqo, has come out to applaud KCCA for their efforts to keep Kampala green.

As a result, Sisqo has instructed UK-based promoters Chinedu Ikoroha and Misairi Kabira to make arrangements for him to plant trees, flowers and grass in Kampala, as soon as he touches base, ahead of his August 25 concert.

As you read this, the promoters have already sent a communication to the city authority, notifying them of Sisqo’s wish.

An insider within KCCA has intimated to us that the entire authority is excited about the opportunity to rub shoulders with the American singer.
