IN the most mysterious of ways, God Moves through our lives. It is in this interesting nature that God has been able to do tremendous repairs and improvements in our lives.
The most important requirement then is that when he moves, you move, lest you are left behind.
Through his new song, God Moves, gospel rapper Ruyonga speaks of the ways God works in our lives, several of which we don’t see.
Ruyonga is a Ugandan-born hip hop music and spoken word artiste who used to go by his former moniker ‘Krukid’, which was fondly given to him in high school after a basketball accident left his face temporarily disfigured.
He has so far worked with Maurice Kirya on the Don’t Wanna Fight remix.
“When you see the ark of the covenant of the LORD your God, and the priests, who are Levites, carrying it, you are to move out from your positions and follow it.” - Joshua 3:3
I have rather stubbornly tried to patch a Bible verse into this article to show and clearly we see that Ruyonga is just suggesting the obvious in a more robust and relatively more relatable way, through rap music.
The song falls in the category of Christian/Gospel rap, a genre that has been around for a while.
Thanks to Christian rappers like Trip Lee, T-Bone and notably Lacrea. Ruyonga, whose words are deep, more profound and definitely God-inspired add an un-ignorable charm to JT’s vocals, which are uplifting.
