Lydia Mutesi returned 33 stable-ford points to win the Lady President’s Shield tournament at Palm Valley Golf and Country Club course on Saturday.

Lydia Mutesi returned 33 stable-ford points to win the Lady President’s Shield tournament at Palm Valley Golf and Country Club course on Saturday.

The handicap 36 golfer beat over 30 competitors to the shield to register her first major win, walking away with the shield and trophy.

The one-day Orient Bank and Castle Lite sponsored tournament had Eva Magala returning 30 points to win the ladies’ Group A.

Sheilla Tibarimbasa (3pts) who had a torrid time (Piga Mingi) on the course will get free lessons from the club pro courtesy of the Uganda Ladies Golf Union.

Brian Toolit beat Steven Odong on sudden death to walk away with the biggest purse of sh2m in the professionals’ category.

Meanwhile, Jasper Kamukama is the new ULGU president. She was unopposed during their AGM held on Thursday at Kitante. Sheilla Kesiime is the secretary while Grace Kabonero was voted treasurer.
