Former champions Tornado have what it takes to end the first round of the Multiple Industries Cricket League in style. Tied with Wanderers at 23 points from 5 games, Tornado host struggling Nile at the Kyambogo oval.

Led by Frank Nsubuga, Tornado come for today’s game with their confidence high after a victory of 109 runs over Challengers last weekend.

Richard Okia hit 80 runs as the experienced Tornado side went on rampage. A win today will help the side go clear of Wanderers in the annual Uganda Cricket Association contest.

The presence and impact of of other seasoned players in Tornado including Benjamin Musoke, Arthur Kobe, Abdu Seguya and Asadu Seyigga is important as the team seeks victory.

Nile, who has been struggling ever since the season started, have to work hard to tame their rivals. Brian Masaba, Ahmad Shahzard, Sarfraz Chunura and Martin Ondeko will again be called upon to try and contain Tornado.

Patidar will face Challengers in the other game. There will also be action in division 2 that will take a Twenty20 format. JACC face SVPC in one of the games.
