The Adhola queen, wife of His Highness the Kwar Adhola Moses Stephen Owor has died.

The Adhola queen, wife of His Highness the Kwar Adhola Moses Stephen Owor has died. The Queen died peacefully in her sleep Monday morning after a short illness.

She passed away at 4am at her Palace along Yona Okoth road in Tororo, a senior Kingdom official told New Vision.

 “It is very sad and unfortunate indeed. I had just got a call that the Queen was not feeling well, I rushed to the Palace only to find that she had died,” said Emmanuel Okello Owor, the Kwar Adhola's personal assistant and Senior Minister in the Adhola Kingdom, in charge of Health and HIV/ AIDS.

Jopadhola shocked

The death of the Queen came as shock to many Jopadholas within and across in the diaspora who regarded her as beacon of hope and unity in Tieng Adhola (The Adhola Kingdom).

 Jannet Oroma, commented online: " We shall forever miss you mother,you have now created abig gap in the Adhola family especially to the mothers and the young girls,your kind love and sacrifices will forever be treasured,may your soul rest in internal peace,Amen!"

 Okello said when the Queen passed away, His Highness the Kwar Adhola Kwar Moses Owor was in Kampala for a medical checkup.

“The body was taken to Tororo hospital for a postmortem and treatment. Burial arrangements will be announced in due course,” he said.

Okello said the queen who was in her mid 70s was weakened by hypertension, which he described as not “serious”. “She of late had hypertension, but it was manageable. The age factor also compounded the illness,” he said.

 Jopadhola mourn

It was a moment of grief when Tieng Adhola Moses Owor (85) on arrival from Kampala yesterday was received by wailing crowds instead of the usual jubilations whenever he returns from official errands.

Head bowed, tears could visibly be seen coursing down his cheeks as he was overcome by the sudden tragedy. Cabinet ministers had to support him on either side from his official vehicle into the palace.

Deafening wails of distress and grief from scores of mourners filled the compound as he was led into the palace main entrance.

Mother of 10

The queen,  mother of 10 succumbed to high blood pressure on Monday morning at around 3.00 am  at the palace, relatives said.

 "She woke me up  saying her health was  deteriorating. I summoned several people  in the palace to get her medical attention but she did not make it taking her to hospital," John Bosco Ogwero a grand son narrated.

Mrs. Owor's body  remains at Rubongi Army barracks regional hospital mortuary pending arrangements for burial.

She will be remembered in her role of yearning for girl children's education that had compelled her to form a bursary scheme charity (Cecilia Education Foundation) .
