President Yoweri Museveni has drummed up support for NRM`s candidate Nasser Basajjabalaba who is tussling it with other three candidates for Bushenyi municipality parliamentary by-elections.

The other candidates are Forum for Democratic Change’s Odo Tayebwa and independents Robert Bwarare and Ismail Kikurwe.

Basajja was declared winner for the Bushenyi municipality seat with 48% after defeating eight candidates.

However the Court of Appeal in Kampala nullified his election on grounds that the exercise was marred by massive voter bribery, among other irregularities.

Museveni addressed two rallies attended by hundreds of NRM supporters at Bushenyi playground and Basajjabalaba Secondary School ground.

He advised the electorate to vote a person who will bring services to them.

He also warned voters against electing Tayebwa fronted by the FDC party that “has no heart for an ordinary Ugandan.”

``Don't vote for the FDC candidate, FDC is a bad party. You see them demonstrating in people's markets and business places disrupting and vandalizing people's businesses. Don't waste your votes supporting the FDC candidate. He will not help you because the opposition has no majority in Parliament,” Museveni’s campaign for his fellow party candidate was clear.

The President assured the people of Bushenyi that his Government would continue giving them services like electricity, roads and other developmental projects.

He challenged the people of Bushenyi to work hard and improve their household income, adding that Government would continue supporting them.

The NRM leader also warned those who are selfish in government programs especially NAADS to stop such attitude and let others benefit.
